Comics Tribune Episode 7 - Booster Gold, Butcher Baker, AvX, Madman

We discuss a little bit of news to open this episode then dive right in on some quick hits. Andrew gives us a blast from the past by talking about Zero Hour and a couple of Ambush Bug specials and then jumps ahead a number of year to tell us about Assassin's Creed: The Fall. Derick tells us how he felt about Adventures of Superman: Gil Kane, talks about a fanzine with Alter Ego 1. Then he runs down what he thought about DC's New52 releases in February. The group then talks about Dan Jurgen's original Booster Gold run. To finish out Andrew tells us why he loved Butcher Baker, Dave complains about Avengers vs. X-Men and Derick discuss what was great about Mike Allred's property Madman. First off I apologize for the 1 day delay in getting this posted but just know that you benefit from it because we didn't add any extra content with the extra delay.

In this pod we have the first off our quarterly spotlight episodes. This one focuses on the X-Men. To start Derick tells a little about the early run of the X-Men. We then discuss the Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past. After that Derick and Andrew banter back and forth a bit on Grant Morrison's New X-Men run. Dave then tells you what he would recommend in Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run. Lastly Derick Xplains (get it) why he barely recommends the X-Statix omnibus from Peter Milligan and Mike Allred. If you've got idea for a particular character, team, or creator you would like us to spotlight get a hold of us on Facebook (Comics Tribune), Twitter (@comicstribune), comicstribune@gmail.com, or leave an iTunes review.
